Sandi took on a mission for the coming year, to bring peace into the world in a very particular way. Given that we are fiber artists, she wanted to make this into something tangible. She had long wanted to knit Fiber Trends’ Peace Shawl. This beautiful design by the inestimable Evelyn Clark features trees and people holding hands with the word “Peace” knitted into the very edging. Since when endeavoring to create change, the first place to look is to ourselves, Sandi decided to knit this shawl for herself. When this is finished she will cast on a new shawl, probably a different design, for someone who is close to her, for their comfort and healing. Thus peace ripples out.
